Our Core Principles

At Axon Rehab, we've developed five core principles that guide our work and help us measure progress:

Clinical Expertise:

Our team brings years of experience, ongoing education, and collaborative knowledge-sharing to provide expert care.

Personalised, Intensive Care:

We focus on increasing the number of repetitions in targeted exercises to provide intensive rehabilitation where it's needed most.

Rehab Technology:

We employ cutting-edge technologies, including robotics and electrical stimulation, to enhance our rehabilitation programmes.

Evidence-Based:

Our techniques are grounded in the latest published research on neurorehabilitation and rehab technology.

Holistic Approach:

We draw on varied clinical backgrounds to provide comprehensive insights and care for our patients.

Meet The Team

Dr Marcin Uszynski,

PhD, Clinical Lead Physiotherapist.

Marcin, our passionate Clinical Lead, brings over 20 years of experience in neurorehabilitation to Axon Rehab. With a PhD from the University of Limerick, Marcin's expertise spans multiple sclerosis, stroke, and Parkinson's disease.

He's not just about the science though - Marcin is a proud husband and dad to Jan and Julia, and their much-loved Golden Retriever, Cooper. When he's not leading our team or researching the latest rehab technologies, you might find Marcin sharing his love for neuro rehab with students or enjoying a family walk with Cooper.

Conor Hynes,

Senior Physiotherapist.

Conor joined our team in 2022, bringing a unique blend of microbiology knowledge and physiotherapy skills. His keen interest in upper and lower limb rehabilitation is matched only by his enthusiasm for Manchester United (through thick and thin, as he says!).

He completed his masters in Physiotherapy in the University of Limerick. Outside the clinic, Conor is an avid gym-goer and occasional marathoner. He loves nothing more than a good hike or a trip to the cinema when he's not helping our patients on their recovery journeys.

Julia Ambroze,

Senior Occupational Therapist.

Julia joined our team in January of 2026. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and a Masters in Occupational Therapy in the United States. She previously worked in clinics specialising in upper limb rehabilitation and brings her passion for Hand Therapy to our clinic.

Outside of the clinic, Julia enjoys visiting new places and exploring different cultures at home and abroad. She brings her love of art, music, and food into our clinic using creativity and everyday meaning to help patients reconnect with what matters most in their lives.

Carlotta Fabiani,

Physiotherapist.

Carlotta became part of our team in April 2026. Orignally from the Italy, she studied physiotherapy in Valencia, Spain, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and then completing a Masters in Neurological Rehabilitation. Carlotta has gained substantial experience treating people with complex neurological conditions across acute, community, and outpatient settings in Spain and the UK.

Cyril McGrath,

Strength & Conditioning Trainer.

Cyril, our strength and conditioning guru since 2022, brings over 23 years of experience from the Irish Defence Forces. His passion for injury prevention and screening is matched by his dedication to helping our patients achieve their goals. Cyril graduated from Thurles LIT with a science degree in S&C and Performance Science.

While Cyril's background might sound intense, his colleagues know him for his dry wit and ability to make even the toughest exercises fun. He's always ready with a joke or a word of encouragement to keep our patients motivated.

Lucy Heckemann,

Athletic Therapist.

Lucy, who joined the Axon family in August 2024, is a qualified Athletic Rehab Therapist. She graduated from TUS, Athlone, with a degree in Athletic and Rehabilitation Therapy. Having grown up living in England, France, Sweden and Ireland she is an avid traveller.

Lucy has an appetite for learning outside of work too, including jiu-jitsu, sewing and Irish... some mix. A keen sports fan Lucy played underage rugby for Sweden and loves to help out at tournaments keeping a watchful eye on player injuries.

Kate Harty,

Rehab Assistant.

Kate joined Axon team in 2025 after graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with an MSc in Occupational Therapy, building on her undergraduate background in Health Science. She brings a fresh, evidence-based perspective and a strong passion for supporting individuals to achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys going for a run, catching up with friends over a good cup of coffee, enjoys the GAA and loves to travel! She values keeping a healthy balance between staying active, socialising and

sharing plenty of laughs with friends and colleagues.

Andrea Lynch,

Client Liaison.

Andrea is our Client Liaison and typically your first point of contact in Axon Rehab. She is there to help patients and families access their rehab as smoothly as possible, and in general keeps things moving within the clinic. With a background in nursing she has been involved in rehabilitation in many areas over the years. Contact Andrea to discuss attending for an initial assessment or arranging further appointments.

When not organising the weekly schedule for the clinic, Andrea is kept busy ferrying her two teens between their many activities, but always tries to fit in a morning swim in the local heated pool, and not in Lough Derg (too cold!).

At Axon Rehab, we're more than just a team of professionals...

We're a family of caring individuals, each bringing our unique personalities and passions to create a warm, supportive environment for your rehabilitation journey.
